Boys and Girls Club- After school and school vacation programs for children 6-18 years old. Clubs are open after school (starting between 2:00-3:00pm) until evenings (ranging from 6:00-9:00pm) on weekdays. Most clubs in New Hampshire offer an affordable annual fee ranging from $20-$75 per year per child, varying by program and location. Financial assistance is available in most programs to families that qualify. Club membership cost, financial assistance, club amenities, programs and activities, hours, and rules vary by location.

New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation- Assists eligible New Hampshire citizens with disabilities secure suitable employment and financial and personal independence by providing rehabilitation services.

New Hampshire Works- Set up in 13 offices state wide, New Hampshire Works assists individuals in their employment search by compiling job listings, offering educational trainings, workshops on preparing resumes, cover letters, and job searching, skill testing, and employment counseling. Services are offered free or at a minimal cost to consumers. All offices are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

NH Department of Employment Security- The NH DES operates a free public Employment Service through a statewide network of Job and Information Centers, providing a broad range of assisted and self-directed employment and career related services, as well as pays unemployment compensation.

NursingHomeAbuse.net Scholarship-NursingHomeAbuse.net has just launched a new $5,000 scholarship, exclusively for US students pursuing a degree that will help combat nursing home abuse. The scholarship will cover non-tuition related expenses such as rent, childcare, textbooks, utilities and groceries for the 2012-2013 academic year. The application window is January 15th through February 15th.

Financial Assistance for Needy Families Program (FANF)- FANF provides cash assistance to families with dependent children through the New Hampshire Employment Program (NHEP), the Family Assistance Program (FAP), the Interim Disabled Parent (IDP) program, and the Families With Older Children (FWOC). Eligibility for FANF depends upon income, resources and the presence of a dependent child.

NH Medicaid- NH Medicaid is a federal and state funded health care program that serves a wide range of needy individuals and families who meet certain eligibility requirements. Medicaid provides payment for health care services ranging from routine preventive medical care for children to institutional care for the elderly and disabled.

Medicare- Medicare is the US health insurance program for people age 65 or older. Certain people younger than age 65 can qualify for Medicare, too, including those who have disabilities. The program helps with the cost of health care, but it does not cover all medical expenses or the cost of most long-term care.

NH Healthy Kids- New Hampshire Healthy Kids provides access to affordable, quality health and dental coverage to uninsured children and teens in New Hampshire. Working with hospitals, community health centers, schools, health care providers and social service agencies across New Hampshire, they help connect uninsured children with the health care services they need to stay healthy and ready to learn.

NH Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD)- Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD) is cash assistance for individuals who are between the ages of 18 and 64 and who are physically or mentally disabled. To be eligible for APTD cash assistance, you must meet certain requirements. If you are eligible for cash assistance, you are also eligible for medical assistance.

NH Aid to the Needy Blind (ANB)-Aid to the Needy Blind (ANB) assistance is available for individuals between the ages of 18 and 64 that are legally blind. Eligibility for ANB depends upon income, resources, and living arrangement. Individuals eligible for State Supplemental are also automatically eligible for Medicaid.

NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence- NHCADSV is the umbrella agency for 14 member programs throughout the state. These programs, known as crisis centers, provide a range of free and confidential services for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter- In addition to the shelter and food services provided by this organization, they assist with transportation to interviews, work, or educational services. The shelter provides free transit passes including bus tickets when available. They also have a small supply of bikes for use during the warmer seasons.
