The Women’s Fund of New Hampshire understands that many non-profits are stretched to the limit in regards to staff and resources, and thus tries to make the application process for a grant as simple and straight forward as possible. Please read the following sections carefully

GENERAL INFORMATION

1) GRANT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Please submit two (2) identical packets that contain the following items in this order:

• WFNH cover sheet (click here for an Adobe Acrobat version of the cover sheet. If it's easier, you may create your cover page in Word and use the Adobe Acrobat version as a guide.)

• Proposal narrative (not to exceed 4 pages -- see detailed description below)

• Project budget (one page)

• Organizational budget (one page)

• Current list of Board of Directors

• IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter

*Optional* Please feel free to also include:

• Supporting materials (i.e. Annual Report, newsletter, media, etc. Please submit no more than two copies of this material.)

2) GRANT APPLICATION PREFERED FORMAT:
To facilitate our copying needs, we prefer that the applications

- do not contain stapled pages

- do not contain any double sided copies

3) SUBMISSION:

First granting session deadline, applications to be postmarked by February 3, 2012.

Second granting session deadline, applications to be postmarked by August 3, 2012.

b) Electronic Submission
WFNH is happy to accept Grant applications electronically. If you would like to submit your application

electronically please email it to Lindsay Hanson at lhanson@wfnh.org.

- If you are submitting your application electronically please submit the application in it's entirety electronically.

- Please do not send a hard copy of your application to the WFNH office if you have already submitted it

electronically.

- WFNH is happy to accept your application as PDF or Word documents

- A WFNH staff member will notify you via email that your application was received within 48 hours of submission.

If you do not receive an email within that time frame, please call 603.226.3355.

First granting session deadline, applications must be received via email by 11:59 P.M. on February 3, 2012.

Second granting session deadline, applications must be received via email by 11:59 P.M. on August 3, 2012.

4) WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?

- New Hampshire organizations designated as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

- Informal groups of women who have a sponsoring organization with a 501(c)(3) status and have come together for a

specific project that benefits women and/or girls.

5) GENERAL INFORMATION

Grants awarded are typically between $1,000 and $5,000. In 2010, WFNH funded approximately 48% of grant applications received.

WFNH has two funding cycles per year, each with its own grant application deadline.

Grant Application Deadline
- First granting session deadline, applications need to be postmarked OR E-Mailed by February 3, 2012.
- Second granting session deadline, applications need to be postmarked OR E-Mailed by August 3, 2012.

Consecutive-Year Funding

WFNH seeks proposals for funding on a year-to-year basis. Proposals must be submitted each time a grant is requested and previous funding does not guarantee continued funding.

Your project narrative should contain the following information:

Background Information
Briefly describe your organization's history, mission, major accomplishments, current programs and services, and your constituency.
Needs and Request
Describe the needs or issues your project addresses. Include relevant statistics or other information that substantiates the needs. Describe how this project will result in or promote social change for women and girls in our state.
Project Description
Describe specifically the goals, objectives and activities or strategies that will be implemented to address the issue and/or needs described. Include relevant timeline and other project or program-related information. Describe who will implement the project or program and their qualifications. Tell us how you are collaborating or communicating with groups working on similar issues.
Other Sources of Support
Identify other sources of committed or expected in-kind or cash support for the project or program. Include plans for continuation of the project over time.
Evaluation
Describe how you will evaluate the impact and success of the project or program.
